Frequently asked questions

Will I meet my dog walker?

Yes you will, once you have made your enquiry and we have decided who fits best for you, your designated dog walker will contact you to arrange to meet. It’s really important to us to do this consultation which is why we offer it for free so you and your dog can meet us and discuss your requirements. Some dogs need a few visits while the owner is there to become accustomed to us, if this is the case we can discuss this with you when we meet for the first time, as our priority is your pets being happy.

Do you work weekends?

Yes we do offer weekend walks.

How many dogs are walked at once?

We walk one on one and group walks so it just depends on your dogs needs, this is part of the process of which dog walker you are designated. Our group walks are a great way to socialise your dog and build their confidence, we don’t walk any more than six dogs at a time and if this is the case there will be two of us there (we are each insured up to six dogs) If on the other hand your dog would prefer a one on one walk we would then ensure this happens. We do walk everyone when they start on their own to build a relationship and also get to know your dog and get to know what they enjoy. It’s really important to us that your dog is happy so if any dog is mixed with a group and they don’t get on we would make sure they are moved from the group and to a different one to ensure that they can enjoy their walks.

How does payment work?

You can choose cash, BACS, weekly or monthly. We do however for one off bookings ask for payment up front.

Are you insured?

Yes we are all insured by Pet Business Insurance for Public Liability (£3,000,000) and Care, Custody and Control (£15,000). We will bring our certificate to the consultation.

What checks do you have?

We are all security checked by Disclosure Scotland, please ask to see your walkers certificate at the consultation. All walkers are also thoroughly interviewed before starting by Vickie (owner) and attend trial walks before starting.

What happens if I need to cancel my booking?

In the event you need to cancel, please let your dog walker know by text or phone call as soon as possible. We do require 24 hrs notice after this we have to charge 100%.

What is house sitting?

House sitting is our alternative to dog boarding. We stay in your home with your pets. This is really popular for people whose dogs can’t go into kennels. We stay overnight and ‘live’ in your home while you are away. So we can put the bins out, water your plants and also look after your home while you are away. We discuss your needs beforehand however as an example – we would arrive at 5pm on the first day then be in for the evening, stay overnight and leave the next morning around 9:30. Then we would incorporate visits into the day to ensure your dog isn’t left for more than 4 hours, we would arrive back at 5pm and repeat while you are away. Our house sitting rates come with walks included however if you dog requires longer than an hours walk please ask when you make your enquiry. We also offer this service if you have cats, we would just not pop back in the day so we would arrive in the evening and leave the next morning and repeat. Unfortunately if you dog isn’t used to being left for 4 hours we can’t offer our house sitting service as we have other dogs in the day we need to walk. We can only offer this service if you have pets due to our insurance.

Do you dry off the dogs when they gets home from a wet walk?

We always do our best to make sure no muddy paws are left on the floor, we dry off before we go back inside ensuring we leave our muddy boots outside too.

Where will my dog be walked?

We walk in lots of different areas and if your dog can travel in the car we may take them to different areas while also walking in the area you live. If your dog is going out with another we may pick them both up and take them somewhere new for them both to explore.

If in case of an emergency what happens with my dog?

Obviously we do everything we can to ensure your dog is kept safe, if for any reason there is an emergency we would contact you to discuss. If we can’t get hold of you we would take your dog to your registered vet.
